Probiotics - The Healthy Bacteria

Probiotics are healthy bacteria like Lacto Bacillus Bacteria, also known as Lactobacillus Acidophilus. They are important in humans and dogs too, because they keep the growth of virulent or pathogenic or disease causing bacteria in check. Probiotics for dogs can be found in raw unbleached tripe, which is often fed as part of the diet when we are feeding raw dog food.

Are you concerned about bacteria such as e-coli and salmonella in the bones and raw food that you might feed your dogs? Probiotics are often suggested by veterinarians when switching from commercial pet food to a raw food diet for pets, because they help minimize the overgrowth of potentially harmful bacteria.

Is your dog smelly? Sometimes the odor is caused by yeast infections that can be reduced by having sufficient Probiotics in the diet. A less yeasty dog means fewer fleas, ear problems and skin irritations. You can supplement your dog’s diet by sprinkling a good quality bend of probiotics for dogs on his food.
